inkVideo supports nearly all popular media formats including MP4, MKV, AVI, MOV, WMV, FLV, WebM, TS, M2TS and more for video, and MP3, AAC, FLAC, WAV, OGG, DTS, AC3 for audio. Additionally, it supports continuous image playback (slideshow mode) for JPG, PNG, WEBP, BMP and more, plus direct PDF document and PPTX presentation browsing. No additional codecs needed — just install and play.

Portable version is a green, no-install package. Just extract and run. No registry changes — ideal for USB drives and on-the-go use.

Installer version installs to your system directory and associates file formats, so you can double-click media files to open them in inkVideo. Great for daily use on a fixed computer.

Both have identical features. Choose based on your preference.

Installer users can go to "Settings → Check for Updates" to auto-detect and download the latest version. Portable users should visit the download page for the latest archive and overwrite the old files. We recommend updating regularly for new features and performance improvements.

Currently inkVideo supports Windows 10 and above (64-bit). macOS and Linux versions are in development — stay tuned!

Try these steps:
1. Make sure hardware acceleration is enabled (Settings → Playback → Hardware Acceleration);
2. Select the right GPU decoder (we recommend NVIDIA NVDEC or Intel QuickSync);
3. Close other GPU-intensive applications;
4. If still choppy, lower rendering quality or enable "Low Performance Mode" in settings.

inkVideo uses FFmpeg hardware-accelerated decoding — 4K should play smoothly on most systems.

Go to "Settings → Playback" and check "Enable Hardware Acceleration". The software will auto-detect your GPU and recommend the best decoder. Supports NVIDIA NVDEC, Intel QuickSync, and AMD AMF. Enabling this drastically reduces CPU usage and improves smoothness.

Try these solutions:
1. Switch GPU decoders in "Playback Settings" (NVIDIA NVDEC / Intel QuickSync / AMD AMF);
2. Update your graphics driver to the latest version;
3. Disable "Hardware Acceleration" for software decoding (more compatible but less performant);
4. Verify the video file isn't corrupted.

Yes. inkVideo supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR formats. Requires an HDR-capable display. Enable "HDR Auto-detection" in "Playback Settings" — the software optimizes color mapping and contrast for the best viewing experience.

Click the speed button (shows "1.0x" by default) or use keys 1-9 (1=0.5x, 5=1.0x, 9=2.0x). Supports 0.25x to 4x speed range. AI subtitles automatically sync with playback speed for perfect timing.

Check in this order:
1. Make sure the player isn't muted and system volume is up;
2. Switch audio output device in "Settings → Audio";
3. Some videos have multiple audio tracks — switch in right-click menu "Audio → Track";
4. For DTS/AC3 audio, make sure the corresponding decoder is enabled.

Yes. inkVideo supports SRT, ASS, SSA, VTT, SUB and more. To load:
1. Place the subtitle file in the same folder as the video with the same name — it loads automatically;
2. Right-click during playback → "Load Subtitle";
3. Or drag-and-drop the subtitle file onto the player window.

After loading, customize font, size, color, position and outline in Subtitle Settings.

inkVideo's AI subtitle translation supports 30+ languages including Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Arabic and more. Translation runs locally or in the cloud — choose the mode that best fits your network environment.

During playback, open the subtitle menu, select "AI Translation" and check "Bilingual Display". Original text appears above, translation below. Adjust font size, color and position separately in Subtitle Settings. AI also handles smart punctuation and line breaking for a natural reading experience.

Two modes are available: Cloud mode requires internet and offers higher accuracy, great for complex content. Local mode works offline for maximum privacy. Both modes deliver near-real-time translation speed without impacting playback.

Yes. inkVideo has built-in AI speech recognition that automatically transcribes speech into subtitles. Click "AI Subtitles → Speech Recognition" in the player to start. Once complete, you can export as an SRT file for editing and reuse.

Open a video, right-click → "Tools → Video Trimmer". Drag the start and end markers on the timeline to select the segment you want to keep. Frame-level precision adjustment supported. Trimmed videos retain original quality without re-encoding.

Supports conversion between 100+ formats including MP4, MKV, AVI, MOV, WMV. Conversion is accelerated using multi-core CPU and GPU for maximum speed. Choose output resolution, frame rate, and quality settings to meet your needs.

In the toolbox, select "Video Merger", add your video files, adjust the order, then click "Merge". Seamlessly combines videos of different formats, intelligently handling resolution and frame rate differences for smooth output.

Yes. Use arrow keys "← →" to step forward or backward frame by frame. When you find the perfect frame, press the screenshot shortcut (default Ctrl+S). Screenshots auto-save to your chosen directory in PNG, JPG, or BMP format. Auto-copy to clipboard can be enabled in settings.

Open a video, click "Toolbox" in the title bar, select "Screenshot", then choose "GIF Animation" mode in the screenshot panel. Drag the timeline to select the time range. Adjust frame rate, output size, and quality, preview the result, then export. Supports high-quality GIF and WebP formats.

Open the video, right-click → "Tools → Extract Audio". Choose output format (MP3, AAC, FLAC, WAV), quality settings, and time range, then export. Fast extraction — no extra transcoding tools needed.

inkVideo features a 10-band professional equalizer with custom frequency adjustment, presets (Rock, Classical, Jazz, etc.), 3D surround sound, and vocal enhancement. Enable it in "Audio Settings" and adjust in real-time with instant preview.

In "Settings → Appearance", select from preset themes or customize colors. Supports dark/light mode switching, adjustable background, accent colors, and border styles. Third-party skins are available through the plugin system.

The plugin system extends inkVideo's capabilities. Browse and install plugins in "Settings → Plugin Manager". Plugins support themes, codec extensions, subtitle styles, and more. Our community continuously updates the plugin library — contributions welcome!

inkVideo offers a free version with core playback, basic subtitle support, and essential tools. Some advanced features (like AI subtitle translation, speech recognition, cloud sync) require a user account. See the download page for a detailed feature comparison.
